These terms cover your use of it-depends.dev. They are short because the site is simple: you can read it, and you can contact us through it. Nothing on this site creates a contract for software work — that always happens in a separate written agreement.

Using this site

You are welcome to read the site, link to it, and share what you find here. Please do not copy the site at scale, attempt to disrupt or break into it, or present yourself as affiliated with us when you are not. We may change or remove any part of the site at any time without notice.

This site is for businesses and the people who run them. It is not directed at children.

Enquiries are not engagements

Contacting us through the consultation form, by email, or by phone does not create a contract, an obligation on either side, or a confidential relationship. If we go on to work together, the engagement is governed by a written agreement that we sign separately, and that agreement takes precedence over anything here.

Until an agreement is in place, please do not send us trade secrets or anything you would not be comfortable sharing without a non-disclosure agreement. See our Privacy Policy for what we do with the information you do send.

Content and copyright

The text, design, and code of this site belong to IT Depends LLC. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back. You may not reproduce the design, or substantial parts of the content, without our written permission.

No warranties

We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it as is. We do not promise that it is error-free, that it will always be reachable, or that the content fits your particular situation. The site describes how we generally work; it is not advice, and the right answer for your project depends on your project.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a concern, contact us first and we will try to resolve it directly. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way belongs to the courts of Delaware. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep any mandatory protections of the law where you live.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top and post the new version here. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
